Playinnovation, in partnership with Mitie & London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham have completed the transformation of a ball court on the Bayonne Estate, Fulham.
The Family inclusive Sports Area (FISA) was officially opened by Cllr Lisa Homan & Cllr Vivienne Lukey on Saturday 18th September 2015 with a whole host of fun activities taking place throughout the estate including a Street Snooker Competition as part of Playinnovation's National initiative.
The opening event was very well attended as members of the community flocked to try out their new facility for the first time and were provided with free water and fruit throughout the day.
The new FISA boasts a low noise 15m x 30m MUGA with a synthetic sand dressed carpet, Playinnovation's patented sports wall games, adult gym equipment area, sharing swing and toddler play are to create a truly family and community inclusive space.
Cllr Lisa Homan, Cabinet member for Housing, said, "It is not just about housing, it is about doing something for the community. This is the first project of its kind in London and we are very proud".
The event was also attended by Cabinet Member for Health, Cllr Vivienne Lukey who was very pleased with the new facility; "This is a great example of families being able to exercise and get healthy together. What was a derelict area of tarmac, has had this spectacular makeover and is now going to be something that will be great for all generations, for generations to come."
The new facility offers the residents of Bayonne a comprehensive range of activities which were not previously available to them and with an emphasis on family inclusive sport, Playinnovation are experts at converting neglected areas into positive social environments.
