Alpha Rail is very pleased to announce the appointment of another trainee apprentice engineer.Adam Skevington, is the second graduate to join Alpha Rail recently from West Nottinghamshire College, and has joined the team as a trainee CAD Technician and Project Manager.
Adam (17) lives in Alfreton, and recently completed his studies at West Nottinghamshire College having achieved a Level 3 Diploma in Graphic Design. He is very adept at creating digital and traditional artwork using various graphic design software.
In his new role, Adam will join the CAD design team at Alpha Rail and assist with the design and production of the technical documents required for fabricators and machine engineers to follow in order to manufacture architectural metalwork. The drawings can also be shown to provide customers with a 3D likeness of their finished product.
Commenting on his appointment Adam said, “I’ve always been a very creative person and have a deep fascination with processes involving design and manufacturing. I chose to join Alpha Rail because I wanted to improve my skills as a designer and develop my confidence in working in a professional environment. I’ve obviously made the right decision, because I’ve already learned so much.”
Technical Director, Dean Briggs added “Alpha Rail has a 30-year history of metalwork manufacturing and a great reputation. We take a real pride in being able to offer employment opportunities to the young people like Adam. I have no doubt that like many of our other apprentices and trainees, he will make a success of his career with Alpha Rail.”
In his spare time, Adam is a self-confessed technology addict, and is often described as being glued to a laptop. When he can tear himself away from the computer screen, Adam can be found looking after his family’s horses or taking part in some sort of fund raising event. Some of his charity past work includes a sponsored 8-hour silence, a 10 mile walk from Clay Cross to Swanwick and organising a whole host of fundraising campaigns through his past role as a Cadet with St Johns Ambulance.
