Weedingtech, the industry leaders for the foam and hot water (Foamstream) method of killing weeds, moss and algae, has expanded their machinery range with the launch of their new Foamstream Municipal.
Launched in 2011, Weedingtech are at the forefront of herbicide-free weed control. Founded by Ben Goldsmith, their patented technology has led them to become the world leaders in the herbicide-free weed control market.
Designed specifically for the amenity and utility markets, the latest machine release is an enhanced version of the original MW-series, their first Foamstream application machine.
The Foamstream Municipal has improved user-functionality with the addition of a touchscreen navigation panel and embedded diagnostics along with an upgraded build quality.
As well as having a smaller footprint, the Foamstream Municipal is over 300kg lighter than the original MW-series. It is already proving popular due to its dual-purpose use to not only control unwanted vegetation but also for general street cleaning and chewing gum removal tasks.
Franck Balducchi, Head of Technology, who was responsible for developing the Foamstream Municipal explained the impetus behind the machine: "We have designed and developed the Foamstream Municipal by closely analysing for two years how our clients use the MW-Series.
"This has led us to keep only our client's favourite features and functions and heavily modify the rest of the equipment by incorporating brand-new technologies in order to make the Foamstream Municipal simple to use, efficient and reliable."

While there are many methods of herbicide-free weed control, Foamstream has proven to be the most effective due to the foam acting as a heat insulator by holding the heat on the plant for longer compared to other methods, leading to a breakdown in cell structure. In addition, the application of foam also helps to sterilise any surrounding spores.
With breakthrough technology used to stabilise the temperature during the Foamstream® application, Weedingtech deliver machinery which produces a more consistent kill efficacy compared to other methods of application.
