Honda’s new Pioneer to star at Royal Highland Show

The innovative Pioneer side-by-side is to take centre stage on Honda’s stand at the Royal Highland Show, which takes place from 22nd-25th June 2017, in Ingliston, Edinburgh.

Honda’s all-new powerful and incredibly versatile side-by-side, the Pioneer 700 marks the brand’s entry into the UK’s fast-growing Utility Vehicle (UTV) market.

The ultimate in practicality, coupled with Honda’s unrivalled reputation for durability, power and efficiency, the Pioneer is set to further strengthen Honda’s market-leading line-up of ‘go anywhere’ utility vehicles, in which the farmer’s favourite TRX420 and TRX500 ATVs lead the charge.

Honda will also be displaying its market leading range of ATVs, alongside its lawn & garden and generator products. Honda is already well known for its range of petrol-powered, domestic and professional garden and estate machinery but recent additions to its line-up include the clever robotic mower, Miimo, capable of looking after up to an acre of lawn and a selection of quality battery powered tools offering exceptional performance and ease of use.

Honda will be running its popular Tidy offer of up to £400 off selected lawn & garden products and visitors to the stand will have the opportunity to take part in a Discovery Trail. Trail seekers will uncover the secrets and stories behind Honda’s product development and Engineering for Life philosophy and will be in with a chance of winning a £1000 e-voucher for Honda’s official online store.

Developed from the ground up as a pure utility vehicle, with the build quality for which every Honda product is revered, the all-new Pioneer is available as a two-seater (700-2) or flexible four-seater (700-4), built around the powerful and efficient 675-cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine and transmission seen on Honda’s range-topping TRX680 ATV.

A three-speed automatic transmission ensures true and reassuring engine braking across even the most demanding terrain, while fully-independent double wishbone front and rear suspension deliver superior handling, smooth riding and all-day comfort.

A 386kg capacity tilt bed with a hydraulic-assist strut make light work of heavy lifting and easy unload, even for just one person, while a 680kg towing capacity means the Pioneer can take on many jobs previously only reserved for a tractor.

Versatility is one of the defining pillars at the heart of the Pioneer – demonstrated perfectly by the industry-exclusive QuickFlip® seating system on the 700-4 – allowing easy switching between one, two or three passengers or a full cargo bed. In two-person mode the rear seats flip down to create a completely flat load bed, then pop back up in an instant when required.

Steve Morris, Head of Honda (UK) Power Products comments: “The much-anticipated arrival of the Pioneer is finally here and we’re very much looking forward to putting it in front of customers for the first time.

"The new Pioneer opens up a whole new range of possibilities for utility users, perfectly complementing our ATV range and setting a new benchmark for side-by-sides. We feel extremely positive about its success as we build upon this first showing at the Royal Highland with further appearances at shows and events across the country in the coming weeks and months.”
