Another prestige stone driveway, securely jointed by pointing the 100mm rumbled magma granite setts with GftK’s ‘state-of-the-art’ wet-slurry applied, self-compacting and non-staining vdw 850 jointing mortar from NCC Streetscape, has been completed.
This unique material is rapidly becoming the UK’s market leader in natural stone sett paving jointing, as it is in Germany today.
On this project it was selected by the natural stone specialists, PDG Groundworks, because it provides extremely strong and durable joint installations subject to frequent vehicular traffic, making it especially suitable for driveways and highways applications.
The vdw 850 jointing mortar is capable of accommodating frequent and heavy vehicle traffic loads and in service also prevents weed growth or boring insect infestations, plus it is resistant to de-icing salts, freeze thaw action, pressure jet-cleaning, and even to mechanical street sweepers.
GftK’s vdw 850 jointing mortar also has additional advantages for both contractors and owners in its application, because it can be applied in the cold and during wet weather, even in the pouring rain.
It is extremely easy and fast to apply, then it hardens rapidly, allowing contractors to finish on time to get paid, plus the customer can put their driveways or roadways back into service with the minimum of closures and downtime.
