Brian Keighery from BAK Services in North Lincolnshire has over 30 years’ experience with forestry, plants and machinery.
Originally the company’s primary focus was fencing services, but as time went on Brian was approached with mowing contracts.
After purchasing a second hand Trimax ProCut, a rotary mower known for its versatility and low maintenance, Brian needed a wider machine that didn't require a larger tractor and so he went for a used Trimax Snake.
“It was the best decision I have made,” he said. "The Snake is one hell of a machine, how it cuts both long and short grass he same is unbelievable.
"There is no real maintenance on the Snake; I grease it, clean it and sharpen the blades. That’s all that is required. Compared to the gang mower where I couldn’t go anywhere without a bag of spanners. It’s incredible.”
One particular mowing contract has to be completed on a Sunday, when the track is clear of horses. “Previously with my cylinder gang mower it used to take me all day but now we’ve got the Snake I’m back home by 2pm to enjoy the rest of my weekend," he added. "I’m so glad I bought the Snake.”
