SCH
(Supplies) Ltd have created a LinkedIn group dedicated to anyone with an
interest in managing sports grounds.
The
group, Sports Ground Management UK, has been set up for those working in the
industry – from groundsmen and team managers through to seed suppliers, line
marker machinery companies, sports related press and anyone else with a vested
interest. It covers both natural turf and artificial surface play areas.
"Having
looked on various networks, we realised that there were few groups out there
solely dedicated to UK based sports ground managers," says an SCH
spokesperson.
"We
felt that it would be a good idea to create such a group and have a go-to area
on line where people in the industry can get support, share knowledge and
exchange news and information.
"We
have started to get a few members but naturally everyone is quite shy so far.
This is not intended to be a ‘salesy’ forum; but of course, LinkedIn is a
business networking platform and our group does give the opportunity for those
in the industry to have a voice and learn from each other, which must be of
benefit to everyone."
