Weedingtech, the manufacturers of the leading herbicide-free thermal weed-control solution, Foamstream, won an award for innovation in France last week.
The innovation award for the Environment and Energy category was awarded to Weedingtech for their Foamstream M600 at the 25th Urbest Exhibition in Metz, France.
Urbest is a trade show focused around decision makers responsible for the development and management of public space in the Grand Est region of France.
The Foamstream M600 was entered in to the award by one of Weedingtech’s French distributors, Ackermann (pictured), who received the prize on their behalf.
The award run by Urbest and sponsored by Les Tablettes Lorraines, an economics-focused weekly newspaper, is designed to acknowledge innovative companies and services and is split in to four categories; with Weedingtech talking the prize for the ‘Environmental, Energy, Prevention, Security, Safety-ICT and information systems’ category.
The judging panel is made up of a number of professionals who assessed each of the 27 candidates measuring them against the following criteria; innovative nature of the product or service, the merits of the product or service against its competitors, creativity of product or service, economic feasibility and benefits, the future potential of the product or service.
Weedingtech’s Foamstream M600 was chosen for its innovative nature, its ease of use without the need for training and the fact that with herbicide use being banned in public spaces it is the ideal, long-term solution for councils looking for alternative, herbicide-free methods of weed control.
The lightweight and compact Foamstream M600 delivers the patented Foamstream process through a hand-held lance. Foamstream works by using a biodegradable foam made from natural plant oils and sugars to insulate hot water, keeping heat from the hot water on vegetation for longer. This leads to a more effective kill than any other thermal method. Weedingtech distribute their environmentally friendly Foamstream solution across four continents including the Americas, Europe and Australasia.
