There is no doubt that consumers are reacting to
battery-powered garden machines, and as a business, we too must adapt to that
shift, says Peter Chaloner, managing director of Henton & Chattell.
Mowing in the winter is a daunting task, but as the season
begins to shift from its usual timings, we too must adapt, he says.
“Cobra has been
innovating the mowing market for a number of years as we offer the largest
choice of powered lawnmowers in the UK. We have recognised the demand for
different types of mowers and have been constantly developing the range. This
year, for example, despite it being a tough year in terms of weather, we have
launched three new models, the MX3440V, the MX484SPCE and the MX53SPH, taking
the total number of Cobra lawnmowers to 60.”
Compact, stylish and powerful, the new Cobra MX3440V is ideal
for any typical UK garden. With its high-performance 34cm (13in) rotary cutting
system and 40v Samsung powered battery technology, this mower makes mowing
truly effortless. Cutting as low as 25mm, for a manicured lawn finish, but
equally capable of cutting longer grass up to 75mm, this mower is perfect for
all garden conditions. The single height of cut makes changing the cutting
height very easy and its handles fold conveniently for storage.
The lithium-ion battery pack incorporating
Samsung technology provides ample power to the DC motor. The battery
incorporates a power indicator system, which is very helpful in determining
when to charge. The fast charger helps keep mower interruptions to a minimum.
The MX3440V grass collection performance is better than many larger mowers, due
to its clear flow design and the vented fabric bag. The mower’s front fins also improve grass cutting.
Discussing the latest innovation, the
MX3440V, Peter said: “This
mower is compact, cordless and has been designed from the ground up,
incorporating improved performance and distinctive styling to set it apart from
others. By incorporating Samsung battery technology into the mower, it means
better power delivery and ultimately easier and faster mowing for customers.”
Smart, neat and perfect for larger tasks,
the MX484SPCE is an electric start mower giving ease of convenience for the
consumer. With a cutting width of 48cm (19in) and six settings for cutting
height adjustments, this mower can deliver a perfectly cut lawn in a variety of
lengths and finishes. Powered by a low emission petrol engine, this mower also
takes into consideration the environmental impacts. It's 4 speed self-propelled
drive system makes challenging bends and borders easier to manoeuvre at slower
speeds, whilst the high speed ensures open areas are mowed quickly and
effortlessly.
Built with a Honda engine and a 52cm (21in) cutting width,
the MX53SPH is well-built, has large wheels for precise turning action and
leaves any lawn it touches with a polished trim. Powered by the advanced Honda
GCV170, launched this year, the mower promises easy starting, and
fuel-efficient performance and the versatility of mulching or collecting. The
variable speed drive technology makes it perfect for any garden shape or
design.
Peter summarised: “Launching these three new mowers is a key turning point for Cobra.
We are showing the market that despite tough seasons, the need from consumers
for better and more innovative machines is there. By expanding our range, we
are keeping up with that demand, as well as helping create perfectly cut lawns
