Leading artificial grass manufacturer, TigerTurf UK, has unveiled a new rugby-specific surface for schools and clubs looking to invest in an all-weather, year-round pitch.
Designed to meet the recently revised requirements of World Rugby Regulation 22, TigerTurf’s Rugby 360 promises to deliver long-term safety, durability and performance for players at all levels.
Boasting a higher stitch rate than equivalent surfaces aimed at football, the turf’s denser carpet and tough XWR yarn are engineered to withstand the precise intensity of rugby training and fixtures.
However, for those looking to really make the most of their TigerTurf pitch, Rugby 360 is also suitable for football – meeting the requirements of the FIFA Quality Programme to give facility owners confidence that they can get the best return from their investment.
The launch comes after the announcement that the RFU will be investing in 100 3G rugby pitches over the next 4 years, as part of its Rugby World Cup legacy plans and revised National Facilities Strategy. The pilot scheme for the RFU’s Rugby Turf facilities has already commenced, with TigerTurf having been awarded two initial projects and work having already commenced at Hornets RFC in Weston-super-Mare.
