T5 proves popular for councils seeking value for money

Local authorities are moving more towards its 120hp-plus T5 electro command tractors with cab suspension, especially for road use, suggests New Holland.

Demand for cab and front axle suspension options is being driven by health and safety vibration legislation.

The compact tractor is now being used more by the owner-operator or the smaller scale operator, having the advantage of being easily loaded and moved around to jobs on a trailer.

The company has also noted interest in GPS technology, especially where driven by legislation is such as for spraying. When using 6-7m working width mowers, GPS saves overlap, increasing productivity while saving time and fuel.

New Holland has also pioneered engine technology with alternative fuel sources on its T6 Methane powered tractor, while an upgraded transmission such as the new T5 Dynamic Command (DCT) semi powershift offers increased versatility.
