Tree shelter manufacturer Tubex will be addressing critical industry topics at this year’s APF show such as how best to meet ambitious planting targets, optimal use of tree protection and the benefits of collecting and recycling tree shelters.
A major focus on the Tubex stand (C1) will be its Collection & Recycling Programme which has significantly expanded in the last year - with 23 free recycling hubs now located across the UK that are currently on track to recycle double the number of shelters than the previous year (2023).
Users of the hubs can drop off polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) tree shelters from any manufacturer – as part of efforts to improve accessibility, promote recycling, and reduce costs for tree planters and foresters.
Its popular range of recyclable tree shelters, which currently incorporate an average of 35% recycled content, will be showcased on the stand at the event – including shrub shelters and wraps.
Tubex will also be exhibiting its Nature range of biodegradable shelters, which have seen continuous improvements since its launch in 2021.
The improvements for the 2024-25 season have been driven by independent research on on-soil biodegradability and customer feedback, and include increasing the lifetime of the product to five years’ service life without compromising biodegradability, doubling the strength of the tubes for better zip tie tightening and an improved flared rim to avoid stem abrasion.
