ClearWater Wash Recycling Systems wins prestigious 'Stood the Test of Time' Innovation Award at GroundsFest 2025

ClearWater Wash Recycling Systems, a leader in sustainable wash water recycling technology, has been honoured with the 'Stood the Test of Time' Innovation Award at the inaugural GroundsFest Innovation Awards 2025.

The award, presented by an expert judging panel from HortWeek, recognises ClearWater's long-standing contribution to the grounds care and turf management industry through its robust, below-ground biological washpad water recycling system.

The GroundsFest Innovation Awards, held in association with HortWeek and sponsored by Cramer and Bosch, drew over 100 entries from across the landscaping, amenity management, and turf care sectors.

The 'Stood the Test of Time' category celebrates products and technologies that have demonstrated enduring value, reliability, and innovation over many years. Clearwater's system, in operation since 2000, uses harmless micro-organisms to biologically clean contaminated wash water, enabling facilities to recycle over 90% of their wash water, reduce environmental impact, and comply with stringent regulations.

The judging panel, led by HortWeek technical editor Sally Drury, alongside Howard Drury, Marcus Forster, and Martin Towsey, praised ClearWater for its proven track record and ongoing commitment to sustainability. The award was announced at a ceremony attended by industry leaders, innovators, and media at Stoneleigh Park.

Matthew Mears, Director at ClearWater Wash Recycling Systems, commented: "We are delighted to receive this recognition from the HortWeek judges and be able to showcase ClearWater at Groundsfest. Our mission has always been to provide reliable, environmentally responsible solutions that stand the test of time. This award is a testament to the dedication of our team, the creators of the system David Mears and Andy Vincent and the trust placed in us by customers across the UK and beyond."

ClearWater's closed-loop system continues to set the standard for washpad water recycling, helping golf courses, sports facilities, local authorities, and contractors achieve their environmental and operational goals.
