Following a well-fought series of Regional Finals across the UK and Ireland, the Chartered Institute of Horticulture is delighted to announce the eight Grand Finalists for the 2026 Young Horticulturist of the Year competition.
These finalists represent the skill, creativity and future leadership of our industry, each earning their place through exceptional performance.
The Grand Finalists are:

The countdown now begins to the Grand Final, which will take place on Saturday, 16th May 2026 at Rochdale Town Hall.
The National Organiser, Victoria George, said “Rochdale is the perfect setting for this year’s Urban Greening theme, and our finalists have impressed at every turn with their enthusiasm and skill. I can’t wait to see that energy shine in the Grand Final.”
The winner will receive the prestigious title of Young Horticulturist of the Year and a £2,500 travel bursary from the Percy Thrower Trust, generously provided by the Shropshire Horticultural Society. The bursary enables the winner to undertake a horticultural study trip anywhere in the world, to learn, gain experience, or explore areas connected to their chosen field.
