Marshalls plc is pleased to announce the commencement of a commercial partnership with Fairhurst Stone Merchants.
The agreement, effective immediately, secures Marshalls exclusive access to Whitworth Yorkstone for use in the commercial environment.
Whitworth Yorkstone is a blue grey to buff brown sandstone, quarried near Rochdale, UK. The Quarry has extensive reserves of high quality blockstone and this agreement will allow Marshalls to expand the market for this material, by utilising its established UK and international operations.
Andy Robinson, MD of Marshalls Mineral Products division said: “We were delighted when Fairhurst approached us with this proposal. It gives Marshalls an opportunity to expand our offer and to introduce new differentiated products into our portfolio.”
Dave Stanger, Marshalls’ Natural Stone Paving Trading Director added: “As the UK’s premier provider of natural stone in the built environment, this agreement with Fairhurst will only bolster customer choice when it comes to selecting British stone.
“Marshalls is passionate about indigenous stone products, with a rich quarrying heritage going back over 100 years, and we look forward to continuing our active promotion of British products over the coming months and years.”
