East Kilbride Golf Club, in South Lanarkshire, has added an ISEKI 50 hp TG6507 compact tractor to its fleet from dealer Fairways GM at Inchinnan.
Head greenkeeper, Scott Reid, said the TG6507 was so good at demo that it was a straightforward choice.
“The purchase was essentially because our loader had come to the end of its days and the ISEKI stood out as best replacement,” he said.
“Until now, we’ve never owned an ISEKI but the whole team was in agreement. It’s early days, but we’re really pleased. We’re enjoying getting to grips with extra buttons and functions that are new to us and having an extra- spacious cab.”
Scott, who has been in post since 2019 and with the club since 2001, has a team of five at the busy parkland course. They selected the CX forks and the front bucket options and took delivery at the end of January, with Fairways GM’s, Area Sales Manager, Stuart Cameron providing sales support throughout.
“The lift capacity is better than we predicted; it’s got more grunt than you think and can lift 1600 kg. It ticked all the boxes for H&S credentials, and I was keen for the dual clutch system; all the benefits of an automatic with option to switch to manual, it’s just easier for the operator.
“Extra horsepower was something we were after, too; our attachments and implements are compatible, but now, we are future proofed. It pairs well to our Wiedenmann Terra Spike GXi8 which was a key factor; the tractor width is the right size, and they have already been across the course together.
"What’s impressive is the tractor tyres are leaving no tracks, tidier than anything we’ve had before. Come early summer our trailed rough mower will be on the back.
"The versatility really suits and the was price surprisingly competitive when you consider the reliability and power, all important when you are governed by a budget.”
