James Pask, founder of Greenstripe Groundcare, initially focused on residential lawn care across Lincolnshire.
Five years ago, Barrowby Football Club approached him for pitch maintenance, as their existing service used cylinder mowers, which couldn’t cut in damp weather.
Lacking the right equipment, James declined but saw potential in sports and amenity work.
A year later, the club returned, prompting James to invest in a reliable mower—if they guaranteed the contract.
After testing various models, he chose the Major CS Pro 3m mower from his dealer Fentons of Bourne and paired it with an ISEKI 6507 tractor.
The Major CS Pro mower is a gear-driven rotary mower with four cut and mulch blades per rotor, which overlap to ensure all materials are finely cut and dispersed across the width of the machine. The height of cut can be adjusted to between 15mm and 100mm.
The machine’s ability to mulch clippings and leave a striped finish, combined with its durability, made it the perfect fit for Greenstripe Groundcare.
Starting in September 2022, James transformed Barrowby’s 10-acre site. The CS Pro’s adjustable rollers tackled uneven terrain without scalping, and its Strenx 700MC structural steel construction ensured durability despite wet weather.
The mower’s level of work output to cost of operation and ease of transport between jobs further boosted productivity. The results delighted the club, which appointed James as Pitch Improvement Officer.
His work has not only enhanced the quality of Barrowby’s football pitches and cricket squares but also attracted new customers. With reduced maintenance costs and increased efficiency, James’ business turnover has doubled, solidifying the CS Pro as a game-changing investment.
