Keep Britain Tidy and the Green Flag Award are working with the University of Leeds and the Suzy Lamplugh Trust to support a new campaign: Safer Parks: Stand Up Against Street Harassment.
This new campaign, running from 17 September to 15 October 2025, aims to create a community of active bystanders and make our parks safer and more inclusive for everyone.
The Green Flag Award has created a free toolkit to support local action. It includes everything you need to get started, including social media images, printable posters a template press email.
- Free Active Bystander Training: Learn how to safely and confidently intervene using the internationally recognised 5Ds: Direct, Distract, Delegate, Delay, and Document.
- Ready-to-use Materials: Download posters for display in parks and public spaces, and find social media posts and graphics to help spread the word online.
- Safer Parks Guidance: Access evidence-based guidance on how changes in park design and management can improve safety. Materials are available in English, Arabic, Urdu, and Romani.
- Stand Up Against Street Harassment
Use the campaign hashtags #SaferParks and #StandUpAgainstStreetHarassment on social media to amplify the message and encourage others to get involved.
