The varied range includes three distinctly different types of surfacing that are each extremely hardwearing and support better play through rapid water drainage.
The collection includes synthetic turf, resin-bonded dry aggregate and a multipurpose, polymeric surface, perfect for MUGAs. Whether you are looking for a new walkway, multipurpose outdoor playing area or low maintenance, highly realistic artificial grass, there is something in Abacus' new range to suit virtually any facility.
Abacus Play Grass, the new synthetic turf is a ruggedly durable alternative to real grass, which is ideal for play as it is non-abrasive, highly UV resistant and with zero maintenance. Made from a blend of fibres and twine woven through a polymeric membrane, and with practically invisible seaming producing one continuous, smooth-looking surface, it is well suited to any area, regardless of size. What's more, the 28mm pile and realistic blend of colours combine to create a natural-looking finish that is particularly suitable for play areas.
Abacus Resin Bound, resin bound dry aggregate is a beautifully decorative outdoor surface, ideal for virtually any size area or installation due to its incredible durability. It is porous, supporting fast drainage and minimizes injury through surface water, and is slip-resistant. Its permanent resilience to wear and damage make it a visually striking alternative to tarmac or concrete. It is also very versatile, as the aggregate is mixed with a resin and troweled over a prepared base, allowing for almost any shape to be created, even incorporating logos, making it perfect for schools, businesses and local authorities. It gives the appearance of a loose aggregate but with no messy clean up or maintenance caused by shifting stone.
Sport-Top, the third in Abacus' new range of surfaces, is a continuous polymeric sports surface, ideal for use outdoors. It is a safe and cost effective, robust flooring system, suitable for a wide variety of activities and providing high-quality play combined with comfort, good grip, minimum risk of injuries and fast drainage after rain. Importantly, it is designed to meet Sport England's M.U.G.A. Type 3 and 4 specification, making it as versatile as it is hardwearing.
