The Greater Manchester
Metrolink network is undergoing a £1.4bn expansion. Metal
railings and gates manufacturer Alpha Rail was appointed to
provide decorative pedestrian
guardrail to guide pedestrians along safe pathways and to
designated crossing places for the latest extension to
the network
through Oldham and Rochdale.
As some of the guardrail would be
used in popular locations it was important the presence of the
guardrail did not to spoil the visual appearance of the town centre.
To ensure this, the pedestrian guardrail was galvanised and polyester
powder coated green.
