The UK's largest Angry Birds Activity Park has been officially opened at Lightwater Valley theme park in Yorkshire.
The £1m park, which covers more than 30,000 sq ft and includes indoor and outdoor play areas, was designed and manufactured by Kettering-based Lappset.
Lappset teamed up with Finnish mobile game developer Rovio Entertainment Ltd to produce the official Angry Birds parks that feature play and activity equipment inspired by the popular Angry Birds characters.
Traditionally a seasonal park, the new facility means Lightwater Valley is now able to extend its opening dates for visitors.
Allan Leech, Chief Executive of Lightwater Valley Attractions Ltd, said: "In 2012 Angry Birds was the most popular paid-for app on Apple's App Store, so when we were looking at a £1million investment in creating a new attraction here at the park it was clearly a popular choice. We are already seeing an increase in advanced ticket sales and anticipate making a £2.5million impact to the region's economy over the next five years."
Featuring multi-layer play equipment including 25ft high nesting towers, the park also includes climbing walls, pig tunnels, interactive Yellow Bird and Red Bird dance games, movement generated Angry Birds sound effects as well as five 55" touch screens which play a customised level 8 version of the game.
Angry Birds Activity Parks are designed to encourage people to surrender their video game controllers in favour of outdoor play.

Lappset has also designed complete ready-made Angry Birds Activity Parks which can be supplied as a package solution for outdoor spaces of different sizes. In addition, a wide range of Angry Birds themed products are available including outdoor furniture, bins and kiosk or café fixtures.
