Bosch demonstrates the future of professional gardening

Bosch demonstrates the future of professional gardening
Bosch has staged its first Professional Garden Tools event at Devonport House, Greenwich, showcasing and demonstrating the environmentally friendly garden tools - battery powered lawnmowers, brush-cutters and line trimmers.

The new range of battery-powered mowers, brush-cutters and line trimmers are aimed at the professional market.

By using highly efficient battery systems and eliminating servicing costs, the mowers effectively pay for themselves in less than three years of regular use.

For professional gardeners using the new Bosch cordless garden tools for up to four hours per working day, the fuel savings and lack of servicing costs would mean that the switch from petrol to electric would save around £520 per year.  Regardless of usage patterns, the annual energy cost of battery versus petrol tools is well below 10%.

The British-built products allow for all-day working thanks to low noise and low vibration levels produced by the weatherproof high performance batteries.  The battery brush cutters are ideal for use in noise sensitive areas thanks to the low noise cutting blade and line. In comparison to a conventional petrol brush cutter, the Bosch Professional is at least five times quieter.

The batteries, which can be used in both the mowers and brush-cutters, take just 42 minutes to recharge, providing enough power to mow an area equivalent to an entire football pitch.

The new professional models are weatherproof and produce significantly lower noise than their petrol alternatives.  Moreover, the fuel savings that flow from battery-powered technology mean that the mowers and brushcutters could effectively pay for themselves over a few years.

"Not only does our new range provide a powerful battery-powered alternative to petrol," said Bosch garden expert Joao Barufi, "our mower is also quieter than some domestic vacuum cleaners so professionals can get on with their work at any time of the day."
