Synthetic sports surfacing specialists Dura-Sport have made further improvements to their i-weave non turf cricket surface and, following testing by an England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) accredited laboratory, it has been confirmed as the strongest and most durable cricket carpet available in the industry.
The new i-weave superior wilton woven cricket surface has significantly outperformed all other surfaces in all required tests which include porosity, durability, tensile strength and abrasion resistance. The testing confirmed that i-weave significantly outperforms any grade of tufted grass available on the market and provides superior results when compared with other woven surfaces.
Dura-Sport's Commercial Director Richard Key said: "Dura-Sport is an innovative business and we invest in the development of new products in order to provide our clients with the best possible facility for their money, be that a multi-bay practice facility or simple match wicket. We are excited to release the new improved i-weave surface in to the market for 2015 and it is already receiving great reviews from our clients."
The first of Dura-Sport's clients to benefit from the new i-weave surface is Warwickshire County Cricket Club. The company has recently completed the construction of a 460 square metre triple lane non-turf cricket practice facility at The Edgbaston Foundation Ground. The facility includes three 40 metre long practice pitches incorporating the ECB Approved DSi-pro Cricket System surfaced with the new i-weave product.
Dura-Sport's DSi-pro cricket system gained official ECB approval in 2012 and the company was awarded the ECB Code of Practice kite mark in 2014.
In addition to non-turf cricket facilities, Dura-Sport also construct, surface and refurbish football and MUGA pitches, tennis courts, golf applications, playgrounds and recreational areas throughout the UK.
