Pittville Park in Cheltenham is one of the largest projects eibe Play has ever undertaken.
The £560,000 scheme has recently come to fruition after months and months of planning by a host of different parties, including eibe.
The original, well-loved park closed in January 2016, but the new playground, featuring lots of inclusive play elements, has already been well used and has received the thumbs up from children and parents alike. Opened for the recent half-term break, Pittville Park features several different zones as you can see from the stunning overhead shot below, all catering for different needs and differing age groups.
There are the more traditional swings and roundabouts, as well as a water play area, a castle tower with climbing frames, musical play and tunnels. Councillor Chris Coleman, deputy deader of Cheltenham Borough Council, is delighted with the variety of equipment and the inclusive nature of many sections:
"I love seeing the children come through the gates and seeing how excited they are. Accessibility was paramount so we made sure that children of all ages were able to use the equipment and we made sure there was clear wheelchair access.
"The new play area will inspire children to get creative, be imaginative and challenge themselves to go to the next level of play. I extend my thanks to Friends of Pittville, businesses and the public who have helped us fundraise to achieve this flag ship play area.''
Judie Hodsdon from the Friends of Pittville added: "We are grateful to all those who supported our fundraising campaign so that this wonderful new play area could be completed and open in time for the half term holiday."
