Envirostik were recently called on by renowned sculptor Lucy Strachan to provide expert advice and adhesive products for some of her latest creations.
Envirostik adhesives were recommended to her by the company supplying her with artificial grass because of their easy-to-use reputation.
Lucy's work has been exhibited widely in the UK and New York and she has produced a number of public commissions. She hopes that her work makes people consider how they respond to their environment and how they look at it. This was certainly the case for Envirostik, who are more used to everyday queries on sports pitches than sculptures!
Lucy's Blue Dribble sculpture was inspired by a dribble of paint on a glass fronted photograph. It was an exciting new experience for Envirostik to see their adhesives used to create such interesting and apparently gravity defying objects.
Lucy said she was impressed with how hassle free using the adhesives was, even on her intricate sculptures. She particularly liked how the speed of the curing gave her the control to assemble her sculptures without making unwanted mess. The ability of Envirostik's hardener additive allows the curing time to be varied to suit particular conditions or applications. When asked, Lucy said she would definitely recommend Envirostik adhesives as she was very happy with the end result.
