David Hedges-Gower established Lawn Solutions in Oxfordshire in 2003 after giving up his job as head green keeper at a major golf course. He now employs five trained operatives who operate across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
The Team Vixen powered, pedestrian sprayer is a key factor in their four season lawn care programme.
"Some of our lawns tend to be on the scale of single or multiple football pitches. It would be impossible to maintain consistency of application across such areas with a non powered pedestrian sprayer, tired legs playing a major factor in forward speed!" he explains.
There is also a major saving in man hours.
"Before we adopted the Vixen it could take 5 hours and 2 operators to complete an area the size of 4 football pitches. We now do this particular contract in 2 hours with 1 operator... and with greater accuracy which means a saving on chemicals!" And when you are applying high water volumes this is considerable.
The Vixen's 125 litre capacity means less refilling and its low ground pressure tyres ensure minimal impact on wet surfaces.

Technical
Vixen is fitted with a 24v battery powered axle with variable forward and reverse drive and low ground pressure tyres. Battery levels are displayed on the hand control and recharging is quick and simple with the recharger supplied.
The 3m folding boom is equipped 6 triple nozzle assemblies and "˜break back' sprung protection against contact with stakes or trees. It can be used with full 3m application or 1.5m with one boom folded and nozzles switched off.
The 14 LPM diaphragm pump offers reliable and fully adjustable application rates. A 120 litre polythene tank with wide, filter protected filling facility completes the robust design.
Optional extras include foam bout marker, hand lance and hose kit and "˜Driftmaster' covered boom.
