Trehane, the UK's leading camellia nursery, has launched a new, free catalogue to coincide with the Chiswick House Camellia Festival (16 February – 17 March).
The catalogue features nearly 200 varieties of camellia, as well as full descriptions and useful growing tips.
Trehane has supported the Camellia Festival at Chiswick House since its inception in 2011 and this year the nursery will have twelve camellia varieties on display, all of which will also be on sale a part of the Festival.
Associated with camellia cultivation for generations. Trehane grows over 300 varieties at its Dorset nursery and is delighted to be featuring the very free flowering hybrid, "˜Quintessence' in its display at Chiswick this year. World renowned camellia authority, Jennifer Trehane is particularly fond of "˜Quintessence': a dainty pink camellia with a lovely scent, it is low-growing, and fantastic for containers.
"These new miniature-flowered hybrids are low, compact and very slow growing with a more subtle flower", said Jennifer. "'Quintessence' is really the ideal plant for smaller gardens, disease resistant and full of bloom from January right through to early April. It is sure to appeal to modern gardeners."
"˜Quintessence' can be found in Trehane's new catalogue which also features the nursery's full range of camellias, including rare and unusual varieties, blueberries, azaleas and ornamental grasses from its Dorset neighbour, Knoll Gardens.
The Chiswick House Camellia Festival runs from 16 February – 17 March daily 10.30 – 4pm. To book a ticket, or for more information go to
