As the season for leaf clearance looms, the STM dealers have not missed opportunities to get out there with the Giant-Vac range of debris collectors and blowers.
Top of the list of successes is the Yard-Vac vacuum unit, and here are sales that have taken place at each end of the UK.
In the South, dealers M and S have sold three units; one of their biggest commercial customers have supplemented their existing fleet of SCAG mowers with a Yard-Vac for maintaining their site.
Secondly a large international removals company has just taken delivery of a similar machine for keeping the yard tidy at one of their branches, and, to complete the hat trick, the sports ground at a prestigious local school have one for maintaining the outer areas on the playing fields.
Up in Scotland one of our dealers has an excellent success story; after a disappointing demonstration with a machine that was not a SCAG Giant-Vac, he had the opportunity to go back with the Yard-Vac.
The disappointment with the other unit was its performance with collecting wet leaves. Kenny Hunter of Fraser Robb reports: "The machine worked well. I demonstrated it in pouring rain and was very pleased to see it collected every soaking wet leaf. Paper and plastic bottles were soon flying up the suction head.
"The YV14 has the most efficient collection bag I've experienced and the system for emptying it could not be simpler."
The machines are available for demonstration through the STM dealership network.
