Fleet Line Markers has announced that the company's patent, which protects the actuator arm concept used in the BeamRider and the MAQA line marking systems, has finally been granted.
The original patent was applied for in 2006 and has now been granted by the European Patent Office, and it is now active (patent no. EP3045998).
The news comes after Fleet Line Markers revealed record sales of BeamRider for a four-month period in the summer. July 2017 saw the largest number of sales in a single month since launching.
BeamRider is the only laser guided, automated line marking machine in the world.
The recent peak in sales has been partly due to several new key features, including a removable docking battery that increases usage by 50%, together with an 80psi high pressure pump coupled with an adjustable pressure manifold for a greater range of application; meaning Grounds Staff can quickly adjust to any surface at any time.
Pairing technology and practicality to deliver savings in both labour and time, the pioneering MAQA line marking system uses GPS technology to reduce the time it takes to initial mark by a massive 75 per cent.
The company, which employs over 60 people in the UK, has also announced a large expansion of the paint chemistry and software departments. The labs have already been updated with the latest scientific equipment, and a £3,000,000 investment scheme for the Fleet software house begins in December 2017.
