Husqvarna brings the future of commercial gardening

Husqvarna, the world’s leading producer of forest, park and garden equipment has showcased a range of new products and innovations at SALTEX 2017.

Commercial Automower, Bluetooth batteries and Fleet Services 2.0 were all on show.

The Husqvarna battery series has a number of key benefits and provides users with an environmentally friendly, low noise option whilst still delivering high performance.

SALTEX gave people the opportunity to learn about the Husqvarna battery series, including the new 536LiHE3 Battery Pole Hedge Trimmer.

The battery series has been specifically designed for commercial applications and with users in mind. Several innovative features are in place to improve productivity and save time and money.

The Husqvarna Li-ion 36V battery is long lasting, durable and IPX4 rated meaning it is weatherproof, allowing commercial users to work in all weather conditions for prolonged periods of time. The brushless electric motors and SavE™ feature delivers high performance with maximum runtime and the low noise motor and low vibration features create a pleasant working environment for the user and the surrounding area. All handheld Husqvarna battery-powered products fit the same battery, meaning less space is taken up in the van and with the intuitive key pad, you can swap the battery from one product to another and be back working in seconds.

A new and exciting development for 2018 is Husqvarna Connect. These new Bluetooth capable batteries allow users to view the battery charge state, estimated remaining run time and the latest session time. It will also provide users with a lock/unlock functionality to prevent unwanted usage and a basic statistical overview of the batteries’ usage. The new batteries will also send notifications and alerts when they are fully charged and ready and also when they’re outside their workable temperature range.

Husqvarna Fleet Services is a cloud-based service that gives landscapers and tree care companies an overview of machine fleet inventory, automated HAV records, service monitoring and location information. The system also monitors optional operator and machine usage style offering educational guidelines at the click of a button. Fleet Services also give the ability to audit your fleet to help guard against losses. With the new Bluetooth platform, data can be collected in real-time, giving professional landscapers superior situational awareness of their machine fleet. Thus, saving time on administration and making their business more productive and profitable.

Husqvarna Fleet Services collects information from machines through sensors, providing accurate facts and statistics about the machine fleet. In Husqvarna Fleet Services 2.0, landscapers can now also manage an inventory of commercial Husqvarna robotic lawnmowers. With this solution, landscapers get a complete overview of all robotic lawnmowers in their fleet, including each robotic lawnmower’s status and geo-positon, on either a map or on a list in real-time. This allows track and trace, as well as mowerscheduling options. Data will instantly be available on the Husqvarna Fleet Services website, allowing access on a computer, tablet or smartphone.

Husqvarna Fleet Services 2.0 will be available in early 2018 and continuous updates that bring additional functionality will be released throughout 2018

Husqvarna is introducing two robotic mowers; Husqvarna Automower® 520 and Husqvarna Automower® 550 - developed specially for green space managers and landscaping companies. The aim is to improve lawn quality and sustainability, while reducing costs and freeing up time for professional landscapers to concentrate on other tasks.

Husqvarna Automower® 500-series takes all the benefits of Husqvarna robotic lawnmowers with added features, specially designed for professional usage. These machines can tackle complex and open areas of up to 5000m2 and steep slopes of up to 45%. An ultra-silent drive in the robotic mowers means a noise level of just 58 dB(A), so the 500series can cut almost silently both day and night without disturbing park users or residents of nearby areas. The ability to cut 24/7, and so quietly, makes Husqvarna Automower® 500-series ideal for maintaining lawns at hotels, libraries and cemeteries.

Husqvarna is confident these products will provide professionals with an effective solution to lawn care after holding a number of successful trials throughout 2017 at parks in Edinburgh and London, as well as Worcestershire Golf Club, Newcastle Airport, The Eden Project, Cornwall and Cragside National Trust. Olle Markusson, Director of Product Management - Robotics, spoke about the thinking behind these new products; “Our objective is to allow landscaping teams to work smarter. With the management system, one person can manage all the mowers in their fleet at one time, and still have time for other tasks.”
