A Talk in the Park: Land Trust launches podcast

National land management charity, The Land Trust, has launched a brand-new podcast which will explore their variety of parks and green spaces across the UK.

Titled ‘The Land Trust: A Talk in the Park’ the podcast will discuss topics such as green space management, the environment and the future of green spaces in the UK with a new guest each episode.

Episode one features the Land Trust’s Director of portfolio Management, Alan Carter, as the podcast discusses the work of the Land Trust and the effect this year’s pandemic has had on their 80 parks and green spaces.

Speaking on the podcast, Alan said: “When I look back to the start of lockdown where we were only allowed out for an hour each day, which seems a long time ago now, that time spent just getting out and getting some fresh air, seeing things outside the four walls of your house was so important.

“It lifted your spirits, and did something for your mental and physical health, but it did something for the community as well.”

Episode one will also features members of the Trust’s Estates team who give their views on what changes they’ve noticed on their sites in the last six months, and some of the challenges they faced to keep their green spaces open to benefit local communities during the pandemic.

In the future the podcast will take listeners around the country to visit some of the Trust’s sites and meet some of the people that make our sites so special. However, due to current restrictions the first episodes have been recorded via video call.

The podcast will be available to listen to on a variety of platforms, including (click to visit):
