Broadcast Meteorologist Laura Tobin joins Honda as a brand ambassador

Well-known Broadcast Meteorologist, Laura Tobin, has teamed up with Honda to launch the all-new series – “Get The Mow How With Laura Tobin” – looking into the relationship between weather and gardening.

Laura will be joined by gardening and lawncare experts, as they consider how to maintain our outdoor spaces under various and changing climates, through the seasons, while also reviewing Honda’s wide range of precision engineered lawnmowers.

Honda UK has signed Laura Tobin as a brand ambassador for the 2021 gardening season. A well-known figure on national television, the meteorologist will host the Get The Mow How With Laura Tobin series airing on Honda Engine Room.

Laura’s career in meteorology includes posts at the Met Office and Royal Air Force on her way to becoming one of the nation’s top weather forecasters, so she’ll be well-placed to take a fresh look at gardening with a strong focus on the power of weather.

Last year, during the pandemic, a new wave of Brits took to gardening; in the first 100 days of lockdown, the Royal Horticulture Society received 5-million more visitors to its website than it did in the whole of 2019 as budding gardeners sought advice on maintaining outdoors spaces.

The series will speak to these new members of the growing, green-fingered community, as well as seasoned gardeners, to provide insight on the weather’s impact on your garden and how to respond and act in kind. Topics and questions such as – at what temperature does grass start to grow?, when is the first cut?; and what height you should set your mower? – will be addressed.

Get The Mow How With Laura Tobin – Episode 1

Episode 1 takes Laura to Stockton Bury Gardens to visit Tamsin Westhorpe, Director of the four-acre open garden in Leominster. Against the stunning backdrop, the pair discuss the all-important first cut of the season, and the impact of climate change on mowing including the possibility of all year round cutting in the future. Tamsin also talks about her great experience with Honda’s Cordless izy-ON HRG 466 XB battery lawnmower and why it shows mowers are better and easier to use than ever before.

Like the premiere, following episodes will look at the weather patterns occurring across Spring, Summer and Autumn that will dictate your gardening to-do list. Each episode will include a specific grass feature, focusing on the techniques required to keep your lawn in top condition, and explaining why a precision engineered, Honda lawnmower is the right tool for the job. Honda’s diverse range of lawnmowers will appear throughout, including petrol and battery walk-behind models, robotic lawnmowers and more.
