Composite Prime launches new on-trend colourway to its Dual range

The UK’s leading brand of sustainable composite decking, Composite Prime, has launched a new duo of colours, slate and natural oak, to its HD Deck Dual range in response to consumer demand.

Annual sales statistics from the Yorkshire based business showed that more than 90% of its decking products sold last year were in varying shades of grey, and as a result the team has developed and introduced a new colour pairing to its HD Deck Dual range.

The innovative range offers a reversible two-colour option that allows the deck to be laid with contrasting colours to create a bespoke finish or pattern.

Charles Taylor, sales director at Composite Prime, said: “A huge proportion of our product sales in 2020 were in the colour grey and predictions for 2021 suggest that this trend is set to stay with Pantone crowning ‘Ultimate Grey’ as its colour of the year.

“2020 was the year that homeowners embraced every part of their home and the garden became an extension of our living space - as a result, interior trends were carried outdoors. Using the colour grey both indoors and outdoor has become extremely popular to create a contemporary and dramatic look.

“We have responded to the grey hue demand and introduced ‘slate grey’ coupled with ‘natural oak’ to our popular Dual range. The combination of natural oak and slate is a market first and we’re confident that it will be well received by consumers and stockists alike.

“Demand for ‘natural oak’ decking also increased. It’s a finish classically associated with indoor flooring but as homeowners invest in their outdoor spaces and create complimenting colour schemes we’ve experienced higher than expected sales.

Composite Prime’s products are eco-friendly and socially responsible; made using recycled plastic and FSC certified oak wood flour. In the six years of operation, Composite Prime has saved the equivalent of 110 million plastic milk bottles from landfill.

Charles continued: “All of our sustainable products have a remarkable likeness to timber, something that our competitors struggle to emulate. The versatility and colour tones that composite material allows make it the perfect choice for consumers wanting to transform their gardens. HD Deck Dual allows consumers to create a completely bespoke design with tailored patterns and schemes to match adjoining interiors.”

The HD Deck Dual features a capped layer to increase protection against fading, staining and other potentially damaging elements, the boards are low maintenance, slip resistant, durable, and barefoot safe so make the ideal option for high traffic, family outdoor living. The range also saves space in warehouses due to the reversible two-colour options and is 3D embossed with wood grain to ensure it appears natural.
