Husqvarna has introduced the first-ever battery-powered chainsaws with heated handles, allowing tree professionals to be able to stay comfortably warm in cold conditions and keep going for longer periods.
Available in the first quarter of 2023, this feature will be included in Husqvarna’s T540i XP® G top-handle and 540i XP G rear-handle chainsaws, which are upgraded versions of the company’s popular battery chainsaws for professionals.
The chainsaws will also feature a digital oil sensor reminding users to refill the chain oil, which improves performance and reduces maintenance.
Tree care professionals work outdoors for long periods and in all types of weather therefore heated handles make their work significantly more comfortable and help them maintain focus on the task at hand even in freezing temperatures or rain. This was previously only possible with petrol chainsaws but can now be done with battery chainsaws thanks to the T540i XP G and 540i XP G.
Both chainsaws perform like petrol chainsaws in terms of power, providing customers with a choice that doesn’t require compromising on performance. In fact, the T540i XP G is without competition as the world’s first top-handled chainsaw with heated handles.
Because battery chainsaws require less maintenance than their petrol counterparts, users may forget to maintain them over time. The new models partially help prevent that by automatically notifying users when the chain oil is low and needs refilling. This leads to improved performance and uptime, while preventing damage and additional maintenance.

The new upgrades make them even more convenient and versatile, regardless of whether it’s cold outside or if you’re in a treetop or on the ground. An arborist’s work position can be 20 metres in the air or on the ground. They need a versatile saw that’s easy to handle and can perform difficult cuts. Thanks to Husqvarna’s battery technology and superb maneuverability and ergonomics, both the T540i XP G and the 540i XP G can cut thick trunks and branches while also being fast and nimble enough for smaller tasks. The rear-handle 540i XP G is an all-round saw, ideal for tasks such as groundwork.
Both chainsaws come with a user-friendly interface for quick control, and the battery status is easily visible. The motor produces no direct emissions and can be started and stopped with the simple push of a button. Other benefits include low noise and vibration levels which lead to less strain on the user’s body.
The T540i XP G and 540i XP G are due to go on sale in the first quarter of 2023.
