Spadeoak secure LTA framework

Spadeoak has been awarded a place on the programme framework for the LTA Parks Tennis Project tendered last year.

The project is part of a nationwide investment by the UK Government and LTA Tennis Foundation, delivered by the LTA, to refurbish public tennis courts across Great Britain, and open up the sport to many more people.

This investment will see thousands of public park tennis courts in poor or unplayable condition brought back to life for the benefit of their local community.

Park tennis court facilities are owned by local authorities and are vital community assets that provide opportunities for children and adults to get active through tennis and help deliver significant physical and mental health and wellbeing benefits.

Sustaining and increasing participation in tennis on park courts is also key to the longevity of the sport itself and the LTA’s vision is to ensure tennis is relevant, accessible, welcoming, and enjoyable to anyone; and park facilities are one of the most important ways to deliver this.

This framework see's Spadeoak collaborate with numerous contracting authorities and local authority stakeholders to meet these objectives and align its positive impacts on the communities in which it operates.

The works commenced January 2023 and consist of the refurbishment of local authority park tennis courts, including court resurfacing, painting and fencing.

Peter Rees, Spadeoak Director of Business Development said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the business and I am incredibly proud of our team. This framework will provide continued work for our sports division into 2024 and we are grateful to be part of such an essential programme focussed on social value and investment into communities in which we work.

“Spadeoak’s reputation for delivering high quality sustainable solutions will leave a legacy in these communities for years to come. This collaboration sees our values align perfectly with the LTA’s vision and objectives”.

Paul Bennett, Head of Parks Investment Delivery said: “The LTA wants to make sure that tennis is accessible to anyone who wants to play and that we continue to open up the sport to more people.

“The Park Tennis Project is a vital programme that will breathe new life into local park tennis courts nationwide and mean they are available for people to use for years to come. We are delighted that works have begun to help deliver improvements that will benefit communities across the country.”
