Celebrating creativity and sustainability at RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival

Capel Manor College is delighted to be taking part in this year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, running to 6 July 2025.

The College’s unique installation celebrates creativity, green education and environmental awareness, showcasing the talents of its students and staff.

The installation is a true team effort, bringing together expertise from across the College’s horticulture, garden design, floristry and creative arts departments. Visitors will discover a diverse range of natural forms and textures, featuring land-based bioproducts and foliage-led planting to highlight the College’s commitment to environmentally responsible learning.

Floristry takes centre stage with striking 3D urns created using eco-floristry techniques. These are complemented by creative contributions from the College’s arts students, including eco-printing and land art, demonstrating how sustainability is woven into every aspect of the curriculum.

Visitors will also have the chance to take part in interactive ‘have-a-go’ activities, where they can try eco-printing and get involved with hands-on horticultural experiences. These sessions are designed to encourage creativity and raise awareness of eco-friendly practices among people of all ages.

Louise Quigley, Head of Department for Floristry, Event Styling and Creative Arts at Capel Manor College, said: “We are thrilled to be part of the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival this year. Our installation is a true reflection of what we do at Capel Manor College, blending creativity with sustainability and offering students the opportunity to learn through real, meaningful projects. Every element has been thoughtfully designed to minimise environmental impact while showcasing the talents of our students and staff.”

Sustainability remains at the heart of the project, with many plants and materials being reused or repurposed from across Capel Manor College’s campuses. After the festival, elements of the installation will return to the College’s Enfield and Regent’s Park campuses to support sustainable education and ongoing practical work with students.
