Mindenhurst Park joins the Land Trust SANG portfolio

Mindenhurst Park, originally known as The Princess Royal Barracks until 2013, has been transferred to the Land Trust.

It includes 38 hectares of superb public open space, extensive woodlands, and a village green which has a duck pond and a play area.

Together, with managing partner Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT) the Land Trust will take responsibility for ongoing maintenance, ensuring the spaces are safe, welcoming and well looked after.

The Land Trust manages greenspaces in line with the delivery of its five charitable objectives; to improve health and wellbeing, to create economic vitality, to bring communities together, and to provide education and learning opportunities, all while improving the natural environment to
enhance and support biodiversity and local wildlife.

Alan Carter, Chief Executive of the Land Trust, said: “Mindenhurst Park provides a fantastic greenspace for the local community to enjoy, which not only will be well-managed for the needs of local residents and the environment, but will also act as an alternative space to the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area (SPA), meaning the benefits stretch far beyond Mindenhurst Park itself.”
