Nominations for the Green Flag Award 2026 UK Best of the Best Awards are now open.
The awards will be held as a virtual award ceremony and will celebrate the amazing staff, volunteers and projects that make parks so special.
There are many fantastic parks people and projects around the country and the awards look to celebrate as many of these as possible.
The nomination forms have already been sent out and the deadline for submissions being 5pm on Wednesday 28 October.
Nominations can include a local park, a colleague, or a project in any of the following categories:
The ‘People’ categories are:
- Employee of the year
- Team of the Year (Park Staff)
- Volunteer of the Year
- Volunteer Team of the Year
- Young Volunteer of the Year (under 18 years of age on 30th September 2026)
- Outstanding Contribution by an Elected Member (Councillor)
The ‘Project’ Categories are:
- Best Climate Adaptation Project
- Best Health Initiative
- Best Initiative to Engage and Increase Use of Parks by Women and Girls
- Best Habitat / Biodiversity Project
- Best Promotion of Heritage Value
- Best Love Parks Week Event
Winners of the Best of the Best Awards will be announced in a virtual award ceremony in December 2026. Date & time to be confirmed shortly.
