The established UK landscaping supplier has achieved the world’s most recognised quality management system standard, ISO 9001, as issued by the British Standards Institution (BSI).
Milestone Reclaim & Landscaping Ltd, already renowned for its exceptional range of landscaping products, has recently proved its commitment to delivering an outstanding service to its customers by achieving sought-after ISO 9001 certification with the BSI.
As Director Matthew Coussens explains, the accreditation process was far from easy – but by working towards ISO 9001, he and his team have greatly improved the company’s internal operations and given Milestone an indisputable competitive edge.
“Going through the assessment process with the BSI has encouraged us to look closely at the systems we employ in-house,” he says. “We were pleasantly surprised by the results from our stage 1 assessment, but we knew that further improvements could be made to improve team productivity and keep costs down across the board.
“By working closely with our Assessor, we identified the areas within our business that needed addressing and reshaping, and we have since introduced new measures that ensure our management systems and processes meet the stringent requirements of the standard.”
However, as Matthew identifies, the hard work doesn’t end as soon as the certification has been issued.
“Now that we have achieved ISO 9001, our customers have extra peace of mind that our business is resilient, responsible and sustainable, and that we are continually working to provide the best possible experience to those who buy from us. We appreciate that maintaining the ISO 9001 standard is just as important as achieving the certification in the first place, so we look forward to welcoming BSI assessors for their annual review later in the year and continuing to drive the business forward with their support.”
