Terex Construction officially debuted its all-new swivel-tip site dumper – the TA9SP – at UK Construction Week 2016.
Powered by a Stage IIIB/Tier 4 final-compliant diesel engine, Powershift transmission and two exclusive operating technologies – Stop/Start Control and Autoshift, the TA9SP has been specifically designed to improve productivity, reduce maintenance requirements and deliver greater fuel economies.
An industry first developed in-house by the Terex engineering department, Stop/Start Control improves on-site safety, minimises fuel consumption and increases service intervals. With suitable interlocks in place to prevent unexpected movement, the new system will automatically start and stop the engine in predetermined conditions.
Tested duty cycles have shown hundreds of pounds of fuel savings per year, as well as extending service intervals by 24 weeks (on a typical 500-hour maintenance schedule).
Using torque demand to guide changes, Autoshift technology enables the transmission to hold lower gears for longer, providing torque, power and drive when it’s needed most. When the machine is unladen, the system allows gears to be changed quickly, improving operator productivity and fuel efficiency.
