Playforce launches free Sports & PE guides for schools

Playforce, the UK’s leading play and sports space provider, has released a detailed guide for schools, providing information on ways to get the maximum impact from the PE and Sport Premium (and demonstrate it for Ofsted).

Known for its commitment to getting children active and outdoors, for almost 20 years Playforce has campaigned to fight childhood obesity and to integrate active play, PE and sports across the school day and age ranges.

Over the coming weeks Playforce will be releasing a weekly advice guide on Sports & PE, drawing on their long-standing experience of working with schools across the UK and organisations such as Sport England, Youth Sport Trust and Sports for Schools.

Director of Marketing, Emily Northin, said: “With ever-increasing pressures on funding and resources, as well as existing equipment, we understand that delivering an increased programme of physical activities can be challenging.

"That’s why we’ve produced this step-by-step guide to the Primary PE & Sports Premium, for those schools that want to integrate PE and Sports, as well as healthy living, into daily activity.”

The first guide, available now, contains information on:

  • The Primary PE & Sports Premium - The background
  • How does it work?
  • What can you use it for?
  • A bit about coaching
  • How is it measured?
  • What are the challenges?
  • Getting the most from your funding
  • How can you make sure any equipment you buy works for the Primary PE & Sports Premium?

Three more guides will be released, on the website page:

  • Part 2 - Best practice case studies
  • Part 3 - Other funding sources for sports projects
  • Part 4 - Encouraging Sport and PE for all ages and abilities
