Last chance to enter the 2018 Golf Environment Awards

STRI Group and The R&A are encouraging all eco-friendly golf clubs, regardless of their size and scale of project, to enter the industry’s leading environmental awards before the closing date of Friday, July 21.

The Golf Environment Awards provide the platform from which the golf industry can demonstrate environmental excellence in all its forms.

Set up in 1995, the GEA recognise and reward clubs for their outstanding conservation efforts which work towards improving their surrounding environment and local ecology.

The main categories are:

  • Environmental Golf Course of the Year - presented to clubs that demonstrate sustainable management such as nature conservation management, turfgrass management, waste and water management.
  • Conservation Greenkeeper Award - given to outstanding individuals who deliver significant contributions to the success of their club’s environmental and ecological management.
  • Outstanding Environmental Project of the Year - rewarded to golf clubs that implement a successful environmental project.
  • Operation Pollinator - recognises clubs who undertake special initiatives to benefit our native pollinators.

The Golf Environment Awards and Operation Pollinator are managed and administered by STRI and The R&A and each entry is independently judged, not on the scale of the project nor their financial investment, but on the golf club’s achievements.

Entry is easy, completely free and open to all golf clubs and courses across the UK, big or small.

You can enter by completing the Entry Form or alternatively, print the downloadable GEA Entry Form 2018 and send it in the post to Golf Environment Awards, STRI Group, St Ives Estate, Bingley, BD16 1AU.
