MITIE, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing company, has appointed Tim Howell as managing director for its landscaping business.
Tim will be working to expand MITIE's landscaping business across wider markets, in particular its retail and property management offering, which already services over 7,000 client sites.
Tim joined MITIE in 2002 to launch the landscaping business alongside director, Larry Jones. Over the past decade he has developed the strategic direction of the business to help realise a substantial growth rate of over 30% between 2010 and 2012 alone.
The business, which makes up part of MITIE's Environmental+ proposition, delivers grounds maintenance and landscaping, winter services, gritting, and tropical interior plants solutions to a range of blue chip financial organisations, retail groups and property management companies throughout the UK.
Tim Howell said: "My focus will be on maintaining the business's excellent reputation for providing a quality and value-focused service. Our innovative business management systems have defined how we work and deliver the service that our customers demand.
"The business is in fantastic shape, with 500 passionate team members led by a strong management network across all regions. I'm excited to be leading the business forward as we expand our offering into new areas."
The landscaping business's key achievements to date include winning and mobilising some of the largest nationwide landscape contracts in the UK such as Vodafone and Lloyds Banking Group.
