GSCS Street Design are the new UK distributors for the range of US manufacturer Victor Stanley Inc. (VSI) Available in the UK since 1988 the VSI range includes beautifully designed, manufactured & finished seats, benches, litter bins, planters & recycling stations to suit virtually any environment & in materials including steel, ductile iron, timber & a unique steel reinforced recycled plastic.
All VSI products receive the highest possible quality powder coated finish, applied by a system that caters for the kind of environment in which street furniture exists, i.e., mechanical attack from vandalism, grounds keeping equipment, “wear & tear” etc., along with the kind of chemical attacks that result from road salt, environmental pollution & the like.VSI’s own “Publicoat” system involves preheating the product to 400° F, which not only overcomes the Faraday Cage effect that prevents powder from penetrating small gaps on other systems, but applies a coating getting on for twice the thickness previously achievable.
VSI’s unique steel reinforced recycled plastic option opens up opportunities for specifying recycled plastic on higher profile schemes than might have been considered in the past.Called 2nd Site Systems®, it involves machining a “trench” the full length of each slat to within a short distance of each end into which a steel bar is fitted & carefully secured (in this way, the steel bar is not visible). This steel bar holds every slat in perfect alignment & prevents the warping that is normally an issue with recycled plastic.2nd Site Systems® is available in four colours to further extend options for its use. The colours are molded in & the material is easily cleaned & resistant to UV & rot.
VSI perform virtually all manufacturing processes themselves allowing the fullest possible quality control over every separate process.
