The biggest sporting event in the world, the Olympics, showcases the world's greatest athletes and sporting achievements.
Four years and 5,768 miles have separated Rio and London. The 2012 Olympics has left a lasting legacy for the United Kingdom. On the 5th August the spectacle of the Olympic ceremony will amaze its global audience yet again.
Deodoro is where the UK manufacturer Harrod UK has been called upon to provide seven sets of bespoke Hockey goals for the games. Four sets of goals will be used in the Olympic hockey stadium and three sets for the University training centre.
For the duration of the games Harrod UK will have a team set up on site to keep an eye on all the action. Sales and Marketing Director Les Saunders, who is in Rio, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be chosen to be part of the world's largest sporting event; to supply the London 2012 Games was spectacular and to be chosen to supply a second Olympic Games is an astonishing achievement for the company and all the staff."
There are more than 10,000 athletes competing in the first Olympic Games to ever be held in South America. More than 200 member nations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) are taking part.
The games are being staged across 32 Venues in Rio de Janeiro. The area of Deodoro is hosting sports such as hockey, modern pentathlon, Rugby 7s, Hockey and BMX.
