Dura Cladding looks and feels like natural wood and its unique timber composite formula provides lightweight yet durable cladding that will not splinter, warp or rot throughout its 50 years design life expectancy.
Not only is Dura Cladding made of 87% recycled materials, Dura Composites achieved a world first earlier this year when it became the first timber composite supplier to be FSC ® 100% certified, guaranteeing the use of FSC certified forests in its production chain when specified.
Dura Cladding comes with a warranty of up to 25 years in domestic applications, and up to 12 years on commercial projects, to give customers complete peace of mind.
This, coupled with the fact that Dura Cladding requires minimal maintenance, makes Dura Cladding a cost-effective faí§ade over new and existing walls.
Whereas natural wood requires regular painting or staining to preserve its natural beauty and protect it from the elements, Dura Cladding requires only basic cleaning.
Dura Cladding has UV inhibitors added at the point of manufacture to protect it against fading and maintain its' colour stability. This allows it to retain at least 90% of its original colour after the first 500 hours of exposure, and then remain colour stable throughout its entire life cycle.
It was this colour stability that attracted Darin Shaikly, Managing Director of Lanswood Ltd, when he was deciding on materials for the company's Lanswoodpark development at Elmstead Market, near Colchester.
"The fact that Dura Cladding does not suffer from colour fade like wood made it a natural choice for a phased project like this. With various stages of the business park being built over several years, it was important that the faí§ades used did not fade at different rates."
