Designed
specifically for use by the amenity and grounds care market, the new
Lamborghini Green Pro tractors offer a range of features to allow a
wide variety of operations to be achieved - loader work, mowing, pto
and hydraulically powered implements, top dressing, transport and so
on.
The
range comprises six models with power ratings from 20hp to 50hp –
the G23H, G27H and G30H powered by 3-cylinder Mitsubishi water cooled
engines, the G35H by a 4-cylinder Mitsubishi and the range topping
G40H and G50H versions by 4-cylinder Perkins engines.
Both
the Mitsubishi and Perkins engines are designed to operate at higher
than normal engine speeds and, in complying with the latest emission
control legislation, are among the cleanest and quietest in this
power sector.
All
models employ hydrostatic transmissions, with the three smaller
tractors having a two-stage 17kph box while others in the range
benefit from a three-stage box rated at 27kph.
Use
of hydrostatic drive allows a precise operating speed to be selected
and for top-end models there are forward and reverse drive pedals
which make directional changes both smooth and simple. There is also
cruise control so that the selected speed is maintained and even load
sensing which helps to maintain a pre-set engine speed.
In
the hydraulic department there are two pumps – one is responsible
for the power steering and the other provides the power for the rear
linkage which, depending on model, is rated at up to 1500kg and has
float, position and draft control. For loader work, a joystick is
fitted as standard and there are two double acting spool valves
available.
Green Pro tractors
have electro-hydraulic engagement of the rear pto with an option for
a mid-mounted pto. When set in auto-mode, the pto is disengaged as
the rear linkage is raised and re-engaged on lowering.
For
the operator, the optional cab provides a well-ventilated,
comfortable working environment with generous amounts of glass and
ergonomically positioned controls. Air conditioning is standard on
the G40H and G50H models.
Overall
then, the Green Pro range offers a high degree of versatility,
reliability and operator friendliness in that they are simple to
drive and to maintain.
