LiveRoof Hybrid Modular Green Roof System

LiveRoof Hybrid Modular Green Roof System
The unique LiveRoof® Lite modular system from SIG Design & Technology  is a fast and effective method of creating an extensive green roof without the need for specialist knowledge or tools. LiveRoof® Lite provides an instant green roof on the day that it is installed.

Hardy, drought-tolerant Sedum plants are cultivated by Blackdown Green Roofs in the UK in a volcanic growing medium that supplies the plants with all requisite nutrients for excellent long-term plant health. The LiveRoof® Lite hybrid tray, manufactured from recycled polypropylene, and unique Soil Elevators allow the soil and plant cover to be raised above the finished level of the modular tray – concealing the tray edges from view and ensuring that the plant cover forms. Unlike traditional modular systems, the LiveRoof Lite tray allows the natural sharing of water, nutrients and beneficial organisms – across the entire rooftop!

Applications
LiveRoof Lite is perfect for:
·New-build and refurbishment roofing applications
·Retrofitting of green infrastructure into urban areas
·Commercial or domestic roofing
·Flat roofs
·Low pitched roofs (with suitable retention or shearing measures)
·Installation over most roof waterproofing systems

Installation
LiveRoof® Lite is simple to install by following four easy steps:

Step one
The roof surface is prepared by sweeping and cleaning before laying any necessary separation layer. The inter-locating LiveRoof® Lite modules are laid onto the prepared roof surface, placed them neatly together to form a grid. The interlocking trays are specially designed with lips on two sides. Whilst installation is intuitive, information stickers provide guidance through the installation process.

Note: Before starting installation, it's important to ensure that the roof is suitable and will bear the weight of the LiveRoof® Lite system and that terms and conditions of any current warranty covering the roof's waterproofing are checked.

Step two
Once the tray is surrounded by adjacent LiveRoof Lite modules, the Soil Elevators are removed to reveal a beautiful, seamless instantly mature green roof

Step three

The perimeter is backfilled with a suitable decorative river washed ballast to complete the installation, giving the roof a finished and polished look.

Step four

Finally, the modules are watered thoroughly to settle any loose growing medium and the installation is complete.
