Millfield School is set in over three hundred acres of playing fields and grounds, with its own Equestrian Centre and stabling for 30 ponies.
Millfield had a recycling problem with all the green waste from prunings, plants, grass cuttings, hedge trimmings and horse manure.
Back in 2005 Millfield School asked Harry West to demonstrate a Seko Bio Chopper, and after looking at the results of the machine decided to purchase a Seko 500/150 machine, after 10 years of service and many tons of composting, time came to update the machine.
David Warner, grounds and gardens manager, said: "The Seko Sam 500/150 Bio-Chopper has become an integral part of the green waste management plan at Millfield, we process around 1600m³ of material annually which we are then able to use as mulch for our shrub beds.
"There was no hesitation in deciding to replace this piece of equipment as reliability and production have shown that it is very good at what it does, and would advise anyone having to compost green waste that they investigate the Seko as part of their process."
