With TIMBREL having received a withdrawal notice from Chemicals Regulation Directorate (CRD) Dow AgroSciences is advising end users that they have until November 30 2013 to buy it if they need product for next season – subject to availability.
The withdrawal notice means that:
Sales of TIMBREL through the trade can continue until November 30 2013.
Final date for the disposal, storage and use of existing stocks with end users – to continue until 30th November 2014.
These dates also apply to all parallel import registrations of the TIMBREL formulation.
Although there is currently no direct replacement to TIMBREL, Dow AgroSciences is advising users that its new products ICADE and GARLON ULTRA will help fill the gap for invasive and woody weeds in many situations within the amenity grassland market.
These products must not however be used for forestry and woodland but can be applied up to the drip line of most trees and up to 1 metre away from the drip line of saplings, hedges and shrubs (essentially keeping the herbicides away from where the roots of desirable plants are growing).
In addition there is BLASTER PRO – maintaining its approval for knapsack use – which can also provide effective control of common nettles, docks, creeping thistle, bramble, broom and gorse amongst many other species. Headland Amenity is able to give guidance on other weeds that can be controlled by BLASTER PRO.
Dow AgroSciences has new products in the pipeline coming through for the forestry and woodland markets.
